Sheryn's process is shaped as much by nature, music, and every-day life as it is by academic technique. Her influences are reflected through her gestural use of lines, color, and texture in her work.
Art and international studies have been a life-long passion for Sheryn. Following her junior collegiate year of studies in Paris, France, she deliberated over becoming an international art dealer, a curator, or an artist. She completed her double major Bachelor's in Fine Arts and in French, and decided to continue her education by getting a Master's in International Business. Her affiliation with the international community led her to move to Helsinki, Finland. After working in the business world for a few years while creating art on the side she began working as an artist full-time in 2002. She has had numerous exhibitions in Helsinki, Sweden and the USA.
Sheryn is currently working on an MFA dissertation in Helsinki that will be published online upon completion. She is represented by Amy Caplan of Caplan Art Designs Gallery in the USA, and limited editions of selected paintings are available via Grand Image. She makes private and corporate commissions, and has at least one solo exhibition a year.
